WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley hinted a long journey to Concord Rangers could have played a part in captain Josh McQuoid’s hamstring injury.
The Terras travelled 183 miles on the coach to Canvey Island with the lengthy trip taking around five hours.
McQuoid, who has already suffered a right hamstring injury this season, sustained his latest setback in Weymouth’s 2-1 win and was replaced in the 26th minute by Abdulai Baggie.
And Molesley hopes the reoccurrence is less severe.
He said: “He’s an experienced lad, Josh. We’re hoping he felt it the way it was, hasn’t done too much damage and came off at the right time.
“Sometimes it’s a long travel on the day when you’re sitting on the coach for hours. We do walk and try and do the right things.
“Sometimes bodies respond in different ways. The conditions were slippery and we’re hoping he got off before doing too much damage – only time will tell.
“He’s aware and with a little bit of rest it might ease off, but we’ll have to see how he settles over the week.”
