A perfect start to 2022 for our U23s as they record a 7-1 victory over Bashley U23s in another strong performance this season.
First team players Gerard Benfield, Ben Morgan, Ahkeem Rose and Tom Bearwish all featured tonight for the U23s, with Bearwish and Rose recording hattricks and Morgan also finding the net.
In the first half, Ben Morgan opened the scoring with a headed finish, with Tom Bearwish scoring shortly after. Then following a well worked move, Bearwish scored his second of the night.
Ahkeem Rose then added to the scoresheet with a headed goal following a corner delivered by Dan Neild. Bearwish then completed his hattrick before the half time whistle blew.
In the second half, Rose grabbed his second following an excellent team buildup and Bashley then scored their only goal of the game. Ahkeem Rose then completed his hattrick moments later.
As for our first team players’ involvement in this game, Ben Morgan completed 45 minutes on the pitch, Ahkeem Rose completed 60 minutes and Tom Bearwish completed 70 minutes. All of whom contributed and scored tonight; a very strong evening for the trio.
Weymouth U23s next fixture is a cup match away to Winchester City U23s on Thursday 13th January.
