CHAIRMAN Steve Mills admitted he was “unbelievably impressed” by the pre-season set-up devised by Weymouth manager Mark Molesley and his coaching staff.
Mills, who announced boss Molesley’s permanent appointment on the final day of last season, took in the Terras’ first full pre-season training session at Blandford School on Friday evening.
And the club chief, who officially took on the role of chairman at the start of May, was absolutely delighted with what he saw.
Asked for his reaction by Echosport following the session, Mills said: “I was impressed, unbelievably impressed.
“I love watching Mark work, he is so professional and it is just another level to what we are used to and I just cannot wait to get started.
“The players are loving it. They can’t wait to get started and I think it’s because of where Mark has come from.
“It’s an education for a lot of them, it is not something they have ever come across before.
“You can see from the looks on their faces when they have finished that they have actually learnt something from the training session, which I don’t think many of them can say from the past.”
He added: “That was the first training session I have watched and I was just blown away by it.
“The best signings we have made, I think, are all of our coaching staff. It’s just an incredible set-up at the moment, it’s so professional.”
And while Mills was keeping tight-lipped on any potential new recruits coming in for the Terras, he insisted that the club’s summer dealings were by no means complete.
“Our business is still going on and the squad is still shaping up – we haven’t finished yet,” he added.
“I know there is more news on the way, obviously we can’t say too much because there are players we are looking at, that other clubs are also looking at.”
