After four away contests on the bounce, we finally play in front of the Terras faithful, for our final game of a long, hard-fought season.
Our last match at the Bob Lucas Stadium was our abandoned 1-0 victory against arch-rivals Yeovil Town, where a well-taken finish by Dan Roberts gave us our first victory versus The Glovers since 1988.
Watching the game was Mark Molesley, whose appointment was revealed in front of the crowd before kick-off.
Impressed by the atmosphere, Mark told us he hoped to see “everyone out in force again.”
However, looking to spoil the party are promotion-hopefuls Farnborough Town, who will know that a win could allow them to leapfrog out-of-sorts Hampton & Richmond Borough, on goal difference.

THE OPPOSITION…
Currently placed NINTH in the National League South table, Farnborough are one of THREE teams who could find themselves in the final play-off spot by 5pm today, Aveley and Hampton & Richmond being the other two sides with similar ambitions.
If The Yellows were to somehow climb into the top six after their visit to Dorset, their season would unequivocally be considered a success, with them having the opportunity to return to England’s fifth tier since the 2004/05 season.
Since their relegation to the then-Conference South nearly two decades ago, the club have since experienced a real rollercoaster of seasons.
Two years after their demotion from the Conference, the Hampshire outfit went into administration, forcing them into Division One South & West of the Southern League.
Then, after they had looked to put their problems behind them when they narrowly missed out on a return to the fifth tier after six seasons, they went into administration once again.
If things couldn’t seem to get any worse for The Yellows, they were then forcibly relegated to the EIGHTH division at the end of the 2015/16 season due to financial facers.
But, from the following season onwards, long-term gaffer Spencer Day has managed to, slowly but surely, turn things around.
After immediately getting promoted the season they went down, Farnborough stayed in the Southern Football League Premier Division South for four seasons, before returning to the National League South at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
If there’s any indication that the club have continued to go from strength-to-strength, it would be their last 16 league games.
Since their 2-1 defeat away to Eastbourne Borough in January, Day’s side have picked up an extremely impressive 33 points, which includes 10 wins and just three losses.
If that wasn’t eye-catching enough, this side had only earned three more points in their first 29 league games.
Today, though, they are facing the mighty Terras, who have won all five of their final home games in the National League South…

We only have to cast our minds back five years to remind us why home fixtures against today’s opponents are so special.
Perhaps no one will know this more than our gaffer and no.10, who saw us emphatically beat The Yellows 3-0 to take us into the National League South, the first of two back-to-back promotions
Goodship unsurprisingly bagged the second goal in this game, and would later tell us that it would be his favourite goal scored so far in his career.
The previous season saw even more goals in this fixture, when we scored six times in BOTH games.
If there was any fixture where our goal drought could be broken, it would be this one…
