BOSS Jason Matthews pulled no punches when describing his side’s performance following their 1-0 defeat to Biggleswade Town on Saturday, labelling it “one of the poorest performances since I have been in charge”.
The Terras succumbed to a 74th-minute winner from Waders substitute Sam Merson in a contest which failed to catch the eye.
Speaking after what was Weymouth’s first home loss of the season, player-manager Matthews told Echosport: “It is quite hard to pin-point why it was but at no point in that game did I feel we got going.
“For me, personally, in other home games we have probably not scored from our chances. On Saturday we didn’t create enough chances.
“I knew a fair bit about them and we went with a 4-3-3 because of their diamond formation.
“It felt like a little bit of a dead game. It seemed very quiet right from the word go and we tried really hard to put that right.
“We changed it to a 4-4-2 in the second half to try and get us a little bit of width.
“I don’t think that we got our passing game going. Too many passes got under-hit or over-hit and, overall, it was a really frustrating day at the office.

“Players just didn’t play to their potential and that’s the biggest problem.”
The result leaves the Terras fourth in the table with 26 points from their opening 15 games, five points adrift of leaders Leamington.
