BOSS Jason Matthews was delighted with the way his side responded after half-time against Hungerford Town on Saturday, as a 20-minute blitz from the Terras saw off the visitors at the Bob Lucas Stadium.
Full-back Mark Cooper and Adam Kelly were on target soon after the interval, the latter’s strike proving to be the winner.
Asked what was said during half-time, Matthews told Echosport: “I reiterated the way we wanted to play, which is to play good football, and the boys came out and did it.
“I wasn’t happy with the first-half performance. I didn’t think we got it down enough and got dragged into their style of play, which isn’t pretty.
“I felt for the first 20 minutes of the second half we probably played our best football of the season. We tore Hungerford, who are a good side, apart and scored the two goals.
“The last five or 10 minutes was a battle but we did both sides of the game very well.
“On the whole I am really pleased. It is all about picking up points at this time of the season and winning your home games.
“We have one of the best defensive records in the country, which speaks volumes for the boys.
“Chris McPhee came in at centre-half and has done really well. We are looking good and strong.”
With no other games taking place in the league on Saturday, three points also ensured the Terras moved back into the play-off spots.

“It’s something we looked into and we knew that playing the game could give us those points on the board,” Matthews added.
“Obviously other teams are still in the cup and that was not to be for us this season, but we have made the most of it in the league which is the main aim.”
