JORDAN Seabright paid tribute to Weymouth’ new goalkeeping coach Robbie Yates as being a big part of him coming to the Terras after he re-signed for the club on Wednesday evening.

Seabright played three games for the Terras last season, in the BigFreeBet.com Challenge Cup and the Dorset Senior Cup.

Seabright said: “It is nice to come back and I am thankful to my work to allow me to play on Saturdays and Tuesdays and be a bit more flexible so I am grateful for that opportunity and I am grateful to Mark (Molesley) and the guys down at Weymouth to get me in and come back to football.”

Seabright will be returning as the Terras’ number one, with Weymouth having had Mark Travers and then Will Dennis on loan from Bournemouth as their prime goalkeeper.

Goalkeeping coach Yates has also Weymouth joined from Poole Town, in a move that was announced on Sunday, and the pair know each other well.

Seabright explained: “I have known Robbie since I was 10-years-old, I am 24 now so I have worked with Robbie for quite a while and he is a good friend as well as a goalkeeping coach.

“He was a big part of me going to Weymouth as well as Mark Molesley, Paul (Maitland) and Tom (Prodomo), it is a really good set-up and I think the club can go places this year, definitely with retaining a lot of the

squad.”

Seabright is looking forward to getting back to the squad, and praised the atmosphere in the group.

Seabright said: “I am good friends with a lot of the lads there, we have grown up together at Bournemouth and things like that and it is a real tight knit group of lads.”

“Obviously I have been in a couple of games in my time, and terms of the bond the team have got is probably the tightest that I have seen. I am looking forward to getting back into pre-season at the end of June and cracking on with it.”

Yates, speaking of his own arrival at Weymouth, said: “I am really looking forward to the challenge and I am quite excited about it. Weymouth is a big club and I think overall Mark is doing such a great job and getting the foundations right and building on it and I think they are going to be quite a force in the future and it would be nice to be a part of that.”

Steve Boore will also be staying with Weymouth next season.

He joins a long list of Weymouth players having committed to the Terras next season, with Brandon Goodship, Jake McCarthy, Callum Buckley, Jordan Ngalo, Ashley Wells, Ben Thomson, Josh Carmichael, Stephane Zubar and Charlie Davis as well as new signing Tony Lee all having agreed terms.

Meanwhile, Weymouth have announced that season ticket prices for adults next season have been frozen, whilst a season ticket for concessions are to drop by £10.
