WEYMOUTH assistant-manager Tom Prodomo is relishing the opportunity to reintroduce players to the elements they built upon last year as they prepare to face Bournemouth Under-23s in the first pre-season friendly at the Bob Lucas Stadium tomorrow (1pm).

Prodomo also spoke of the desire to get Weymouth back out in front of the home fans after their superb year last season.

Prodomo said: “The first game of pre-season is just about getting the players back out on to the pitch and managing the minutes that they do and just re-introducing them into all of the key elements that we started to build up throughout the season last year.

“We are really looking forward to getting them back out on to the pitch, particularly at home. Our fans were fantastic last year and it will be great to put a team out in front of them and get the pre-season underway.”

Prodomo admitted that there will be a couple of trialists in the squad, but made it clear the Terras are not in the market for a lot of players.

Prodomo said: “There will be a couple of trialists that we are having a look at in there but we are not in the market for loads and loads of players so it will mainly just be all of the players that you are used to seeing.”

New signings Tony Lee, Warren Bentley and Jordan Seabright will be in the squad.

Prodomo said: “It will be an opportunity for the new lads just to build on the sessions that we have had and start to put into practice some of the things that we have talked about with them and get them up to speed with how we look to play.

“It will be good fixture for us, they will obviously be fit and well organised which will challenge us in the way that we want to be challenged and it is important that you get your pre-season games right because before you know it it is Saturday, August 11 and the Southern League is underway.

“You cannot afford to waste a single day in the pre-season and obviously the fixtures and friendlies are a massive part of that preparation.”
