Mark Molesley has hailed AFC Bournemouth youngster Shaun Hobson’s great character after Weymouth’s 4-1 victory at St Albans City on Saturday.
The 21-year-old defender has featured in three games since joining on loan earlier this month and scored his first goal for the Terras at the weekend.
Weymouth have only conceded once since Hobson joined their defensive line and are undefeated in the three games which he has played.
When quizzed on how he thought Hobson’s life with Weymouth had started, Mark Molesley was full of praise for his loan signing.
Speaking to theterras.com, Mark Molesley said, “Shaun’s certainly a promising talent, with his professionalism off the pitch and his character it’s obvious that he’s a good player and he’s shown that.
“Defensively he’s strong, he plays out well and when he scored he didn’t look like a center-half in their box either.
“He’s had a great start to life at Weymouth, I’m sure he’s enjoying it and we’re certainly enjoying having him at the moment.”
Shaun Hobson joined the Cherries in the summer of 2016 and works with Mark Molesley as part of the AFC Bournemouth Under 23s set-up, and the Weymouth boss said he has been impressed with Hobson’s attitude so far.
“He’s here to play football and football only, you’ve got to admire him,” Mark Molesley continued. “He doesn’t get caught up in the social media or all the fake stuff off the side of it, he gets in and gets his work done.
“He’s a role model for a lot of the young players who go out on loan, he’s a great character.”
