South Coast Traffic Management proudly feature on the front of the Weymouth FC Women’s team shirt for the 2021/22 Dorset Women’s football season.

We caught up with Craig Purdy and Joe Jupp from the company to find out a little bit more about them and why they’ve become big fans of The Terras.

Hello, chaps. Can you tell us a little bit more about South Coast Traffic Management?

Joe: We are a traffic management company based in Poole; however, we will travel all over the south coast to fulfil traffic management requirements.

We provide all types of traffic management from multi-way traffic lights to road closures and everything in between. We are happy to apply for all permits and do all the leg work into making sure the works run smoothly and efficiently as possible.

Safety is not something that is taken lightly, our main goal is to make sure that everyone has a full understanding of their day-to-day role and make sure everyone gets home safely.

What made you choose to sponsor Weymouth FC Women?

Craig: We were looking to sponsor a local team, to put back something into the community and to help a growing team develop. I saw a post on the Weymouth FC LinkedIn to sponsor the women’s team and the team fit our requirements perfectly.

We had a meeting with Mark Palmer and signed the deal there and then as there was a clear passion for progression and we wanted to help the team reach their goals.

Who are your main customers?

Joe: We work with building contractors, civil engineering companies and councils all across the south west. We’re sure we can support any organisation that needs traffic management support.

We have recently gained our BSI ISO 9001:2015 NHSS 12D accreditation as well as CHAS and are currently working towards gaining Achilles.

We are currently a team of 7 but are planning on expanding so that we can build a bigger client base. We’re excited about what the future has in store for us.

Have you watched any of the Weymouth FC Women’s games?

Craig: We’ve been to a few Women’s team games this season and they’ve been great. We went to the FA Cup match at the Bob Lucas Stadium (against Alton Town) and it was a great atmosphere, really inspiring! We feel there’s so much potential for the team to progress through the leagues and we’re really happy to be a part of that!

What we really enjoy is having that closeness to the team. I took my young son to one game and Charlie Wilson (Weymouth

FC Women Captain) spent 30 minutes playing football with him after the game – he loved it!

We were also Match Sponsor for the men’s team first game of the season against Boreham Wood, we’ve really become big fans of The Terras!
