WEYMOUTH have announced the signing of striker Brandon Goodship on a one-year contract.
The former Yeovil Town and AFC Bournemouth man arrives at the Bob Lucas Stadium having been released by the Glovers last month.
The 22-year-old was part of the under-21s set up with the Cherries until January, before he mutually terminated his contract to join Yeovil.
And, with a new challenge awaiting Goodship in the non-League ranks, Terras’ assistant-manager Paul Maitland is tipping the talented forward to make a big impact at his new club.
“It’s a really big signing and it’s one we have been working on since we realised that he was not necessarily going to be going back to Yeovil,” he told Echosport.
“He is hungry, young, mobile and has ambition in the game.
“He is a proper goalscorer, scores all types of goals and is someone we were desperate to add to our armoury going into the season.”
Poole-born Goodship’s loan clubs include Braintree Town and Hayes & Yeading United throughout his career, as well as a spell at Dorchester Town in 2013.
Maitland added: “He is a good age and is a big coup for us to get him on board.
“We have waited for him because we felt he would be our go to man. If he can do what his pedigree suggests he can do, he will be a big goal threat for us.
“The squad is starting to look strong and take shape now.”
