FRUSTRATED Weymouth manager Brian Stock voiced his grievances at Woking’s perceived tactics during a 1-0 loss to the Cardinals on Tuesday night.

Stock’s men were beaten by a solitary Slavi Spasov goal but the Terras’ boss felt there were too many decisions given against his side.

Openly known for his stance on supporting rather than criticising officials, Stock’s comments were a measure of his dismay.

He said: “I’m not one for being negative towards referees and officials but I found that very frustrating.

“I hate to say it, but Woking are probably the most direct team I’ve ever seen.

“They played the referee very well, bought fouls very well – a professional performance.

“When you look at it from their point of view, they’ve come away with three points and their game management was better than ours.”

Stock added: “We should’ve gone 1-0 up at the start. Tom Whelan’s done well to get into the box and he himself will think he should’ve scored.

“We created some really good chances but didn’t capitalise on them. We need to be better in and around the box.

“We need to start scoring goals at this level. Do I think we should’ve won or got something from the game?

“I don’t know.

“We’re going to be facing similar scenarios this season in terms of game management, the physicality, and I felt we came up a bit short.”

Weymouth’s next Vanarama National League game is at home to Sutton United on Saturday (3pm).
