The directors of Weymouth FC and Dorchester Town FC were both saddened and disappointed by the events that took place during last season’s fixture at Weymouth on Boxing Day.
After consulting the authorities, the two clubs have concluded that excess alcohol, consumed by a minority of supporters, was a major factor in the distasteful events.
It has therefore been mutually agreed that the fixture on August Bank Holiday Monday will kick off at 1pm.
We apologise to majority of law abiding supporters for any inconvenience that this kick off time may cause.
We are certain that you will understand that we cannot allow the actions of a small minority to spoil the occasion for the majority.
