WEYMOUTH goalkeeper Will Dennis feels that Weymouth are strong favourites ahead of the play-offs, where Weymouth will face a semi-final on Wednesday.
The location and their opposition will be decided by the results in this afternoon’s matches but Dennis is confident ahead of the match.
Dennis said: “I am really pleased with how it is going, we have improved every game as a team and we are getting used to these big games now and we are performing every game.
“We are very strong favourites going into the play-offs now as well.”
Dennis is excited for the play-offs and believes that, should promotion be achieved, the Terras, who entertain Hitchin Town today (3pm), would do well in the league above.
Dennis said: “I am really excited, I feel we can go really far with this.
“If we went up we would do really well in the league above as well.
“I am very confident in the team we have got. It is a very strong team, very experienced as well.”
Should all of Weymouth’s play-offs rivals win then the Terras will likely face a travel away to King’s Lynn Town but the permutations mean that Weymouth are still able to finish as high as second in the table on the final day.
Dennis joined the club back in January and the club has successfully maintained their charge towards the play-offs since.
Dennis has been happy with how he has performed since then and said: “I have been really pleased, I have matured in games at the moment.
Referring to his team-mates, he said: “We have been defending well and playing out more and playing well and scoring goals so it has been really pleasing to play behind them.
“You look at our defence and I think teams come to us thinking how are we going to get past them.
“People come to us thinking they might be nervous, how are they going to take us down. We look deadly at the back, very strong very experienced back four or five.”
