MARK Molesley bemoaned the fashion in which his side played during their 2-2 draw against Poole Town in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier South.
Goals from Brandon Goodship and Calvin Brooks were cancelled out by strikes from Jake Smeeton and Jake Scrimshaw, while Abdulai Baggie performed brilliantly against his old club.
Molesley said: โI have got to be honest I did not enjoy our performance at all.
โWe came out of our way of how we usually do things, fair play to Poole, they made it tough for us, it was difficult and they made it scrappy and I felt that we followed suit really.โ
Weymouth should have won the match, with numerous chances that went begging, such as a Goodship free-kick rattling the crossbar while Ben Thomson and Yemi Odubade had great chances late on for the Terras.
Molesley said: โWe have missed three one-on-ones, we have hit the crossbar so despite us not playing at our best and not being our fluid selves we created more than enough chances to win that game.
โSo I am disappointed that we have not won the game, but Iโm disappointed by the fashion in which we played, it was not a Weymouth performance I donโt think.
โWe looked a little bit jaded out there and not our usual selves.
โWe have a certain way of playing and I thought we came away from that.โ
Molesley praised the Dolphins, but did not understand how they finished the match with 11 men.
Firstly, William Spetch and Ben Thomson were yellow carded after the two had an off the ball skirmish, in which the two were grappling with each other.
Then Spetch was not handed a second yellow for a bad tackle, and from the free-kick Goodship rattled the crossbar.
Molesley said: โBut fair play to Poole, they made it a difficult afternoon, the game was very scrappy.
โWe did not quite get the rub of the green on a few things.
โHow they have managed to finish the game with 11 men on the pitch, I wonder why.
โWe canโt control the referee, we canโt control Poole Town, they have come and made it really difficult but we can control ourselves and I donโt think we played anywhere near of what we are capable of.โ
Weymouth were dominating the chances towards the end, in a similar fashion to how their 3-3 draw with Taunton played out, with the Terras unable to break through.
When asked what he thinks the late dominating, without crafting a goal, is down to, Molesley replied: โIt is difficult, they are fine lines, fine lines, a couple of great saves from their goalkeeper, we have hit the crossbar.
โWe have just got to keep believing in ourselves and keep making them chances. The only problem is the day when we are not making chances and looking shaky at the back.
โBut we are not that at the moment, we have made a lot of changes, we have had suspensions and injuries and different things to deal with.
When asked about the incident between Thomson and Spetch, Molesley said: โI think Tommo initially body-checked so it might well be a foul for Poole, but next thing I know he has been wrestled to the floor.
โI was quite surprised their defender was still on the pitch.โ
