Weymouth Football Club can announce the signing of goalkeeper Gerard Benfield, subject to FA approval.
Gerard returns to the Terras after a spell at rivals Dorchester Town.
Gez had this to say on his return:
“I have many fond memories of my previous spells at Weymouth, but if I had to pick a favourite, it would be coming back on loan towards the end of the season and helping them secure safety in the National South away at Dover on the final day of the season. This is probably still, to this day, my favourite day in football.
Now coming back, we have a new challenge on our hands, which is to get this club promoted back to the Southern Premier League, as I believe it’s a club that should be playing at that level and higher.
I’m looking forward to seeing some old faces, and the season can’t come soon enough. We want to give the fans something to cheer about, and we can’t wait to get the ball rolling!”
