WEYMOUTH fans have raised ยฃ200 in memory of a Kings Langley supporter and sponsor Matt Allcock, who passed away shortly after the two sides played out a 2-2 draw in January.
The Weymouth Supporters Association, on behalf of the club, collected money during the 2-1 loss to Basingstoke Town (whose directors and staff chipped in as well) in memory of Allcock, who had numerous roles within the club.
The club, nicknamed the Lango, in response to the supportersโ association announcing the total, said: โThis is unbelievable, we canโt thank you enough.โ
This adds to the incredible sums raised by Langley after Allcockโs passing, with the club able to announce they had raised ยฃ22,590 (including ยฃ8,300 from Just Giving) following their next game after his passing, against Staines Town.
Josh Barton, one of the Weymouth directors, said: โWhen we found out the tragic news about Matt Allcock it was very much in our minds, because clearly an incident like that puts football very much to the backburner and certainly puts things into perspective.

โIt was quite heartfelt for a lot of supporters and the football family in general, particularly at this level of the game to get together in such tragic circumstances.โ
Iain Stone, from the Weymouth Supportersโ Association, said: โIt was from everyone at Weymouth Football Club, we just did the collection. We went to the board and said could we do it, and they said yes.
โWe just thought it would be a nice gesture.
โHe (Allcock) was doing things for the community and it is nice see the community doing stuff back to help his family.”
