Dudley Barry
About this record
The club's career ledger through May 2017 is combined with individually recorded competitive appearances from later seasons. Earlier games are not added twice.
0 competitive appearances have individual match records; 415 appearances in the career total do not yet have individual match links. Starts, substitutes and goals show recorded figures, not estimates for missing games. Friendlies and unclassified matches are listed separately and excluded from the competitive total. An unused substitute is not an appearance.
Biography
Dudley Barry was a central figure in one of the most successful periods in Weymouth history. His recorded Terras career ran from 1965 to 1976, beginning as the club defended the Southern League championship and continuing through more than a decade of first-team football.
The verified club ledger records 415 appearances—398 starts and 17 as a substitute—and 52 goals. Those figures reflect both his durability and his contribution at the opposite end of the pitch during an era in which Weymouth were established among the strongest clubs in non-league football.
Barry’s service linked the back-to-back Southern League championship era with the side that lifted the Southern League Cup in 1972–73. His place among the club’s outstanding long-serving players was formally recognised when supporters selected him for the Weymouth FC Hall of Fame in 2021.
